Falcarraghs visitor centre or perhaps better known as An tSean Bheairic is a real gem for both the community and developing tourism in the area. Local people can enjoy a cup of tea, a bite to eat, a range of classes from art to dancing and innovative festivals throughout the year that celebrate local talent and the Gaeltacht culture.
Féile an tSean Bheairic takes place around June every year, with a lovely line up of events for the community and visitors to the area. And 2013 will be no different, with a theme of Sean Nós dancing and singing showcasing Gaeltacht culture. Classes are already in full swing for Sean Nós dancing and singing with experts in the field sharing their expertise to develop performances from local adults and children. Their festival this year will provide a delightful and cultural line up.
Throughout the Summer months An tSean Bheairic hold a free concert each week, usually on Wednesdays, “Ceol agus Tapas” between 8 and 10pm. Intimate musical performances of traditional, modern and jazz music. The venue can hold around 70 to 80 people and themes in the past have seen the place bursting at the seams with local people and visitors keen to enjoy these unique events.
The centre is a tourist information point, not only can tourists get all the information they need, but can also immerse themselves in the local history, and enjoy a display of historical artefacts on show around the year including local crafts and artwork. There is some real talent here and this is clear from the artwork exhibited around the centre. All descending from the Art classes held every Thursday, it really is difficult to spot the amateurs as the work is just brilliant.
As part of this years festival, an tSean Bheairic, are holding a photography competition “Cloughaneely faces and places”, there are wonderful prizes to be won as well as a chance to showcase the winners talent. A great opportunity if you like taking photos”.
Centres like this are what holds communities together and inspires visitors to return to the Gaeltacht. The team at An tSean Bheairic are really making the most of this wonderful space.

Is féidir le turasoirí sult a bhaint as stáir aitiúil, eolas a fháil ar an ceantair agus féach ar an táispeantais de artefacts. Chomh maith le sin, tá roinnt talent sa réimse seo atá feicithe ar an saothar ealaíne ar fud an ionaid. Tá an ealíon seo a dtuirlingt ó na ranaganna atá ar súil achan Dhearadoin, talent ar dóigh!
